I consider myself to be very lucky to have been under the care of such a professional caring consultant . The experience from first meeting discussing my problems with mobility and pain - though to pre op tests and information gathering prior to my surgery 4 weeks ago was informative - showed empathy and I felt confident and was sure I was in a very safe pair of hands . Had two replacement ful knee,one was done in my right leg , that had smaller joints due to polio , I had suffered as a child , the replacement was success , but due to my lower, calf muscles and legatmities etc.i still have minor pain it that leg .also had a bleeding after operation , but okay now . that was over 18months , not stopped me from getting around . The second left knee , was done 6 wks ago , I have got over that operation a lot quicker ! Which I call my good leg due the fact it has bore all the weight ! has I walked , and ran for over 70 yrs . But I also have got arthritis in most my joints too .that is age etc. I now find daily living a little more difficult not stooped me from enjoying life' .,.. but I hope this helps

I consulted Dr Barkatali about a problematic knee back in July 2017. You generally tend to go to these appointments with a certain amount of apprehension but his manner was excellent explaining the issue in detail and suggested key hole surgery. The whole experience couldn't have been better. Great care and attention to detail by the all the hospital staff and by Dr Barkatali who personally explained how the procedure went immediately after the general anesthetic. Since the operation, I now have full movement of the knee with no pain or swelling.
